Rebecca London

Adjunct Fellow

Expertise: K-12 education

Rebecca London is an adjunct fellow at the Public Policy Institute of California and an assistant professor of sociology at the University of California, Santa Cruz. She also serves as faculty director of UCSC’s Student Success Evaluation and Research Center. Her areas of expertise are K–12 education and higher education. Her current research focuses on parental engagement and school climate in the Local Control Accountability Plan. Her recent publications focus on the linkages between student health and academic achievement and the role of recess in promoting a positive elementary school climate. Previously, she was senior researcher at the John W. Gardner Center for Youth and Their Communities at Stanford University. She holds a PhD in education and social policy and an MA in economics from Northwestern University.
