Diana Dooley

Diana Dooley served as secretary of the California Health and Human Services Agency and then chief of staff to Governor Jerry Brown before retiring in 2019. Previously, she was CEO of the California Children’s Hospital Association in Sacramento. She also founded a public relations and advertising agency in Visalia, worked in private law practice, and served as general counsel and vice president of Valley Children’s Hospital. She began her professional career as an analyst at the State Personnel Board, before serving as deputy legislative secretary and then legislative secretary in Governor Brown’s first administration. She received her bachelor’s degree in social science from California State University, Fresno, and her law degree from the San Joaquin College of Law.
