Francisco Martínezcuello is a 2022–23 PPIC CalTrout Ecosystem Fellow at the PPIC Water Policy Center and a graduate of UC Berkeley School of Journalism. He served 20 years in the US Marine Corps with tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. His writing focuses on the environment, science, and military affairs/veterans’ issues. Publications and more can be found on his website. He will be reporting on Orange County’s Trabuco Creek, the historic site of a significant steelhead trout run.
